Okay, this is a really irritating topic. Having one personality for the internet, and a different one as soon as they sign off. It's not uncommon at all but it's questionable. Why would a person want to be somebody else? Does that mean their real life is wack? If so why not be this net person in real life? Is there really a such thing as taking the net too seriously since we're actual people typing to each other?
So many unanswered questions I have.
In my opinion, when people sign up and grow accustomed to community web sites, their personalities change. I mean their over all personalities. A lot of people might not think so but regardless of how different you act offline i believe you still will see a difference.
I've been on a certain site for over 2 years now and I've seen people change over time. Some from nice to asshole, from quiet to popular, from stupid to fake intelligent. People have fallen onto so many net bandwagons that you will never really know how a person is unless you spend some actual reality time with them.
The biggest fad would be the sarcastic comments. For me it's gotten old and really stupid. But I also feel that if it's fun for you and it's not really hurting anybody then, hey great!
What do you think?

yep i think people who feel that should change their whole personalities are insecure about themselves and feel that the internet is a world they have control over.
great writing, i couldnt have said it better myself and you know i totally agree.
hella "fake intelligent" people out there..i agree with that
People on the net suck.
I'm a weirdo on and off.
Score.
I always answer questions honestly but depending on my mood or the mood of the article, it may sound contradictory to previous postings. I have a ton of different ideas, opinions, and am one of those people who can always see both sides of the coin, so for me there isn't ever a set opinion. If were talking religion, depending on how Godly I feel is how Godly I respond. Somedays I like rap music, other days, I'm offended by it. I have a hard time STAYING TRUE, because for me, it's all true. Im just flexible. What I hate are those lame guys that hit on every girl in the room 500 times. Get a freakin clue! Are you that lame that you can't go to a club and get a girl? But that's just me.
i fully agree. people sit at home behind a computer screen and they feel safe. they feel as though they can be whoever they want and say whatever pleases them. they can. but, at the end of the day, they're still themselves no matter how pathetic and and lonely they may be. bullying others is just a sign of weakness on their part.

People are dorks™ all around to be on the net 24/7. They think they are the shyt... no. For the quiet turned popular... those are prolly the kewl beenz ppl in person... cause they know how to keep they grill shut.
